This is a fantastic way to apply natural a temperature drop at night. The Habistat Pulse Proportional Day/Night Thermostat manages the temperature 24 hours a day 7 days a week with the capacity to drop the temperature at night when attached to a timer or the Habistat 'Night Eye'. With many species it is important to give them a cycle of warm day time temperatures and cool night temperatures. Many species would experience this in their natural environment.

The function of this thermostat is the same as the Pulse Proportional thermostat but with the added facility of a night temperature drop facility. 

A Pulse Proportional Thermostat is essential for controlling ceramic heater emmiters. The way this thermostat works will very accurately control your ceramic heater emmiter/s up to a maximum load of 600 watts. Using a Pulse Proportional Thermostat will provide a better environment for your reptile and also extend the life of your heater. Note; A basic Temperature Thermostat simply switches a heater to full power until the your set temperature is achieved. It then switches the heater off completely until the temperature drops below the one you have set it to.

The gap between the heater being switched on and then off is called hysteresis. It is between these points that the accuracy of the controller is assessed. The Pulse Proportional Thermostat pulses electricity to the heater, so provided you fit a Pulse Proportional Thermostat your reptile will have a consistent temperature and you will extend the life of your ceramic heater emmiter. Be sure you are providing the correct thermal gradient for the species you keep.
