The function of this thermostat is the same as the Pulse Proportional thermostat but with the added facility of a night temperature drop facility.

Using a Pulse Proportional Thermostat will provide a better environment for your reptile and also extend the life of your heater. Note; A basic Temperature Thermostat simply switches a heater to full power until the your set temperature is achieved. It then switches the heater off completely until the temperature drops below the one you have set it to.

The gap between the heater being switched on and then off is called hysteresis. It is between these points that the accuracy of the controller is assessed.
